Please help us prevent the spread of invasive species in our lakes this summer!

There is a significant risk that invasive species will spread and become established in our large lakes – Vänern, Vättern, Mälaren and Hjälmaren.

What can you do?

DRAIN all water from your boat, engine, and other equipment before moving them. Also empty your bait bucket and never release live bait, such as fish or crayfish, into waters other than where they were caught.

CLEAN your equipment – for example wetsuits, fishing gear, and boats – before using them in a new body of water. Make sure to remove plant material, animals, and mud. A high-pressure washer or boat hull cleaning facility is recommended.

DRY all equipment thoroughly before moving it to another body of water.
